Ricky Rozay is back with another effort from his upcoming album, "Port of Miami 2". A sequel to his often regarded classic debut album, "Port of Miami". This time he teamed up with Swizz Beatz on a Just Blaze beat. First off, I would like to start by saying, Rick Ross doesn’t have a “bad” album. Of course, there are albums I greatly prefer over others, but none that I would necessarily call “bad”. I am usually always excited for a Ross album. I look forward to hearing him rap luxury bars over slick beats. That same excitement carried over to his new single, 'Big Tyme' and I can’t say it lived up to my expectations.
I wouldn’t say this song is a far cry from Ross’s usual sound, but it is not the type of song that gets me excited for the album. Ross thrives when he brings the listener to his world and has them feeling like they’re part of his lifestyle for however long the song lasts. There’s nothing special going on in this song, and the Swizz feature seems unnecessary. I just feel like Ross can do better. I wouldn’t go out of my way and say this song should be the end-all, be-all in, terms of excitement for the album. However, it does raise a little bit of concern for me. Especially after hearing the single he dropped before this, Green Gucci Suit. I sure hope Ross has more up his sleeve.
