These days, all eyes are on Charlotte! One of the reasons is because of N.C. native, rapper, ‘Stunna 4 Vegas'. This year he released his first album "Big 4X", which includes appearances from Offset, DaBaby, Lil Durk, and a few others. With the release of his most recent single, "Ashley", I'm more than positive that he's gained even more fans.
The song features ‘DaBaby' and suites both he and Stunna well. The bass is thick, the beat is dope and both flows serve as the cherry on top of the ice cream. Music videos aren't as popular as once before, but I still have a great appreciation for artists who release visuals with their music. I like the video for "Ashley". It's a parody of the ‘90's hit, sitcom show, "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." Great visuals along with a great song, equals a WIN-WIN!
With all of the good, there's a little bad to go along with it. When first hearing the song, one would think that it's by DaBaby, featuring Stunna 4 Vegas. That's not the case at all. In fact, it's the other way around. DaBaby starts with the first verse, while Stunna follows behind. Call me old fashioned, but if the song is by Stunna, he should be the one to take the lead. At this point, DaBaby has a signature sound, that can also be heard in "Ashley". It makes you wonder whether or not the song was genuinely meant for Stunna or DaBaby. Overall, I must confess; "Ashley" is a dope song and that can't be denied.
