Dreamville returns with an updated version of their hit compilation album “Revenge of the Dreamers 3”. It offers the original great songs on the album, as well as 12 more new ones. Featuring artists like: 'DaBaby', 'Vince Staples', 'Ari Lennox', 'EARTHGANG', and more. Let’s dive into the album and see what’s so great about the “Director’s Cut”.

One of the issues I had with the origins "Revenge of the Dreamers 3", was its replay value. I didn’t particularly feel the need to play the songs after the first 2-3 listens. With the added songs, I feel like this solves that issue because there are more variety and choice within the album. Along with this, it feels like a “Side A-Side B” type of album. Side B offers the same vibe but from different approaches. Some of my favorite songs have Ari Lennox in them. I feel her voice helps make any song melodic and peaceful.

This project was one of my favorite projects of 2019, and adding more songs to it makes it a definite top 3 album. The extra songs make a total of 30 tracks. It's lengthy for a studio album. My favorite thing about this album is that it offers an opportunity for lesser-known "Dreamville" signees to show what they’re capable of. The fact that Cole kind of chills and pops up here and there on the album shows how much he truly cares about his musical peers.

I'd say it’s probably necessary to listen to this fantastic album as soon as possible. It offers just enough of every genre of music. ONE song can resonate with any listener, no matter who they are or where they come from.
